Dear Woman — A Reminder For All Women
Dear Woman — A Reminder For All Women
Dear woman,
I see you.
Not the version of you that performs,
that holds it all together with tired hands
and a smile that has learned to arrive before the tears.
I see the one underneath.
The one who lies awake at 2am
carrying things that were never hers to carry.
The one who gives and gives
and quietly wonders
if anyone notices.
They do.
We do.
You are not invisible.
You are not too much.
You are not behind.
You are a woman in the middle of her becoming —
and that is one of the most sacred things
there is.
You have survived every hard day so far.
Every one.
That is not nothing.
That is everything.
So tonight, put down what is not yours.
Let the dishes wait.
Let the list wait.
Let the world wait — just for a moment —
while you remember
that you are not here to be useful.
You are here to be alive.
To feel the sun on your face.
To laugh until your stomach hurts.
To rest without guilt.
To be held.
To be seen.
To take up space
without apology.
You are allowed to want more.
You are allowed to need rest.
You are allowed to say
“not today”
and mean it.
And on the days when you cannot find yourself —
when the noise is too loud
and the weight is too heavy —
come back to this:
You were not made to be perfect.
You were made to be real.
And real is so much more beautiful.
With love,
from every woman
who has ever felt exactly what you feel.
A Note from Trish
I wrote this for you. For the mornings when you are running on empty and still showing up. For the nights when you wonder if it is all worth it. It is. You are.
