Magnesium Day & Night: Choosing a Supplement for Your Routine
Mental Wellness in the Workplace: Are You Running on Empty?
Mental Wellness in the Workplace: Are You Running on Empty?
We often pay attention to our physical health when something hurts. But we are not always as good at noticing when we are becoming mentally or emotionally depleted.
By the time most people realise they are in trouble, they have already been running on empty for weeks — sometimes months. The signs were there. They just did not know what to look for.
This simple 3-part check-in can change that.
The 3-Part Check-In
Sit comfortably in your chair. Breathe. Then rate yourself honestly out of 10 in each of these three areas — without analysing, without judging. Just notice.
1. Emotional
How are you feeling right now? Calm / happy / irritable / anxious / overwhelmed / flat.
Give yourself a score out of 10. Do not overthink it — your first instinct is usually the most honest.
2. Mental
How clear is your mind? Concentration / focus / distracted / foggy / tired.
Are you sharp today, or are you wading through mental fog just to get through your to-do list?
3. Physical
How does your body feel? Well rested / low energy / comfortable / sick / tense / sore.
Your body keeps the score. Tightness in the jaw, tension across the shoulders, low energy despite a full night’s sleep — these are not random. They are signals.
Why These Three Numbers Matter
Imagine someone who is normally brilliant at solving complicated technical problems. Today their mental capacity is sitting at 3 out of 10. Giving that person the most complicated problem of the day is probably not going to get the best result — for them or for the business.
Having a low score occasionally is normal. We all have bad days. The moment to pay attention is when one of these areas is consistently low or getting worse. That is when we need to act.
Sometimes we need to talk to somebody. Sometimes we need professional support from a doctor, psychologist, or counsellor. And sometimes we need to look at what we are putting into our bodies — and what we are not.
What Percentage Is Your Battery?
Add your three scores together and divide by 30. That is your battery percentage today.
Example: Emotional 6 + Mental 5 + Physical 7 = 18 ÷ 30 = 60%
Most of us would not run a business on 60% battery. We would charge it. Yet we expect our minds and bodies to perform at 100% on a fraction of what they need.
The question is not whether you are tired. The question is: what are you going to do about it?
Where to Start
If your scores are consistently low, these are the areas we address first at Life Retreat:
- Nervous system support — our Prime 1 Adaptogens are clinically tested to reduce the physiological effects of stress
- Sleep quality — our Magnesium Mix for Night supports deep relaxation and genuine nervous system recovery while you sleep
- Stress and anxiety — our Stress & Anxiety Bundle combines the most effective natural calm and nervous system support products in one
- A complete personalised protocol — our Stress, Sleep & Nervous System Lifestyle Plan by Trish Taylor covers everything: supplements, nutrition, movement, and daily habits tailored specifically to you
You do not have to figure this out alone. And you do not have to wait until you hit zero.
Do This Check-In Every Morning
Take 60 seconds each morning before you open your laptop. Rate yourself in all three areas. Notice the patterns. That awareness alone — before you change anything else — is one of the most powerful wellness habits you can build.
Share this with a colleague who needs it. The workplace is only as well as the people in it.
